The production business Thirrupathi Brothers, run by Lingusamy and his brother Subash Chandra Bose, reportedly received a loan from PVP’s PVP Capital Ltd in 2014. Thirrupathi Brothers had issued a 1.03 crore check, but it had bounced. With this, PVP had in 2022 accused Lingusamy of having a check bounce.

A metropolitan magistrate court in Saidapet, Chennai, convicted Lingusamy to six months in prison in a case of check fraud brought by PVP. On August 22, 2022, the judgement was handed out, but Lingusamy appealed.

On April 12, 2023, the Madras Principal Sessions Court upheld the Saidapet court’s decision to sentence director Lingusamy to 6 months in prison. Lingusamy must now fulfil the six-month prison sentence.

N Lingusamy had spoken earlier during the metropolitan court’s decision. “Our production company Thirrupathi Brothers Film Media Private Limited and PVP Capitals are at odds. Today, the court made a decision regarding the petition they had submitted. In order to challenge this ruling legally, we will appeal.

There have been some financial issues with Lingusamy. Due to the box office failure of his most recent flicks, he is currently experiencing financial difficulties. His previous film, The Warrior, which he directed with Ram Pothineni, was a failure in Telugu and Tamil.
