But, the Shaakuntalam team was quite sure in the outcome of their film, and they screened a premiere of the 3D version on Monday night in Prasad’s Multiplex Hyderabad with the same assurance. Shaakuntalam, made on a big budget, is based on Kalidasa’s internationally recognised Sanskrit play ‘Abhijnana Shaakuntalam’ and is set to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film is being presented by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations in collaboration with Gunaa Team Works and produced by Neelima Guna.

Samantha’s Shaakuntalam was directed by Gunasekhar. In this film, Dev Mohan plays King Dushyant, and Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha plays Prince Bharata. Aditi Balan, Prakash Raj, Gauthami, Madhoo, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananya Nagalla will play key parts. The music for this film was composed by Mani Sharma.
