It is well known that renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli produced the Telugu adaptation of Bollywood blockbuster Brahmastra. He went above and beyond by taking part in the film’s promotional activities.
It appears that the Rajamouli factor has benefited Brahmastra in the twin Telugu states. Trade reports state that the movie has become a box office smash in Telugu. The movie has so far made Rs 20 crore in revenue and is expected to surpass Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati’s previous record of Rs 25 crore to become the most grossing Hindi dubbed movie ever.

According to recent rumours in the Bollywood media, SS Rajamouli received Rs 10 crore in order to advertise Brahmastra in Telugu and other Southern states. If the rumour is to be believed, Rajamouli’s name even helped Brahmastra succeed by surpassing the Internet Boycott trend in the North Belt, and the sum paid to India’s most successful director is far less than the money the movie has been bringing in at the box office. Brahmastra has amassed about Rs 150 crore in nett domestic box office receipts to date across all languages.
